Clear Expectations,Professional Standards

Transparency is a cornerstone of the Precious Minds commitment. These policies ensure that both families and Petrina are on the same page — so care can begin with clarity and confidence.

Service Policies

These policies apply to all Precious Minds Child Care engagements. Specific terms may be outlined in a written service agreement for regular care arrangements.

Scheduling & Availability

  • Care sessions are available 7 days a week, subject to Petrina's schedule.
  • Minimum booking duration is 2 hours per session.
  • Regular recurring schedules are given priority and may receive discounted rates.
  • Backup and emergency care is available subject to availability — contact as early as possible.
  • Overnight care is available on a case-by-case basis — please inquire.
  • Holiday care is available; holiday rates may apply.

Rates & Payment

  • Rates are based on the type of care, duration, number of children, and scheduling needs.
  • Rate quotes are provided during the initial consultation.
  • Regular schedule clients may be eligible for weekly or monthly rate packages.
  • Payment is due at the end of each care session, or as otherwise agreed in writing.
  • Accepted payment methods are discussed at the time of booking.
  • Rates are subject to change with reasonable advance notice.

Cancellations & Changes

  • Please provide as much advance notice as possible for cancellations or schedule changes.
  • Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice may be subject to a cancellation fee.
  • Last-minute cancellations (less than 2 hours notice) may be charged the full session rate.
  • Petrina reserves the right to cancel care in cases of illness, emergency, or safety concerns.
  • In the event of a provider cancellation, Petrina will provide as much notice as possible.

Safety & Care Standards

  • All credentials, clearances, and certifications are current and available for review.
  • Petrina follows safe sleep practices for all infants.
  • Emergency contact information is required before care begins.
  • Any known allergies, medical conditions, or special needs must be disclosed prior to care.
  • Petrina will not administer medications without written authorization from a parent or guardian.
  • In a medical emergency, Petrina will call 911 and notify parents immediately.
  • Petrina is a mandated reporter and is required by Pennsylvania law to report suspected child abuse.

Care Environment

  • Care is provided in the family's home or an agreed location.
  • Families are responsible for providing a safe, child-appropriate environment.
  • Meals and snacks are the responsibility of the family — Petrina does not provide food.
  • Petrina will maintain the cleanliness and order of the care space during sessions.
  • Screen time is limited and age-appropriate; please communicate your preferences.
  • Petrina will not take children off the premises without explicit prior authorization.

Privacy & Confidentiality

  • Family information collected during the booking process is kept strictly confidential.
  • Petrina will not share family information with third parties without consent.
  • Photos or videos of children will not be taken or shared without explicit parental consent.
  • Contact information is used only for care-related communication.
